Getting the right amount of sleep has several scientifically proven benefits, including the fact that it can boost your immune system and improve your metabolism. Not to mention that getting enough sleep for your daily activities can eliminate fatigue, which in turn improves your mood. Not only will you appreciate an elevated mood -- your family will, too.

Create a healthy sleep routine by putting down the technology and decoupling yourself from the digital world. This will help you destress and wind down -- a key component of fulfilling sleep. Another way you can improve your sleep (and destress) is by removing clutter and keeping an organized home.

2. Exercise regularly
